3 PERSONAL TRAINING BUSINESS TIPS TO BUILD YOUR CLIENT BASE

Building a personal training client base can be stressful, especially for newly-qualified PTs who need clients to get themselves up and running.

There are lots of different methods to build your base, but there are you TOP 3 tactics that have worked time and time again for us.

1.   Networking the RIGHT way: Consistency and familiarity is how to properly network with potential clients on the gym floor. Consistency means showing up to the gym at the hours you want client sessions every single day.

E.g. You want sessions from 5-8am Monday-Thursday – So you go to the gym for those hours. You say hi, how are you, simple acknowledgment of the potential clients that are at the gym working out during that time. Keep up this consistency, familiarising yourself with the regular potential clients that are at the gym at this time, getting to know a little bit more about them each day. Show you are available and interested in gaining clients. Before you know it, you have created a solid lead and can either mention your services or they will be asking you. Happened more time than we can count.

2.   Diversify your services to provide excellent service: Keep up the professional development and your skillset so you can provide high quality, up to date training methods and education to your clients.

But how does that get me clients? By providing excellent service and ability to continue training your current clients throughout their fitness journey and changing goals, they will become loyal, satisfied clientele that will happily give you referrals simply because of the benefit you provide to them and their drive to have their friends and family receive the same.

3.  Build your online presence: The power of social media shouldn’t be underestimated. You may be a face-to-face trainer but that doesn’t mean you can’t find clients online. Tagging your location so that it shows to other people in the area, engaging with people online, documenting your clients success and providing valuable content online will bring clients.

This will also make it easier when you are ready to scale your business with online training, selling merchandise or becoming an affiliate for active-wear brands, sport supplements and accessories, etc.

Ultimately, building a personal training client base takes time and effort, there’s no cheat way around it, but the Real Gainz Playbook puts you years ahead of where you would be without it.
